Western Reserve Dermatology by Dr. Durden

Molluscum Contagiosum

Skin infection caoused by virus in molluscum contagiosum

This condition is characterized by small flesh-colored red bumps, often with a central whitish core. The lesions may occur anywhere. The lesions often affect children. However, when they are concentrated in the genital area, they may represent a sexually transmitted condition in adults. There are many ways to manage these lesions. However, at times, the lesions may spontaneously resolve. A visit to the dermatologist will allow for an informed conversation on the management strategy that fits you best.
